(More customer reviews)I am an EMT who sometime works in very remote places. This is a great piece of gear that I couldnt do without. I purchased this for my personnal kit. At work I have the last generation of this same product. This one is the one you want. Just the new design (ease of battery compartment...) makes it worth getting this over the slightly cheaper older version. There are other, cheaper manufacturers out there. I cant tell you anything about there products. Everyone I know in this industry uses a nonin. I have travelled around the world with this thing, using and abusing it. As long as you get the propper case, it will not let you down.
